Not Enough Computers At School

There are not enough computers at school. There are always kids who are looking for computers but classes are using them. We already have four laptop carts but there are still shortages of computers. We need to devise a new plan of action so kids can use computers whenever they need to without there being any shortages. Our class used the computers and Jay, Jacob, four other kids, and myself needed a computer. Our class was using laptops and there were only about ten in the moving lab, so we had to go upstairs and go get seven extra computers. We didn't have enough laptops because eighth graders were borrowing lots of computers from our room.

One solution is that our school could let kids with their own laptops bring them to school to use when they are allowed to. I know that a couple kids in my grade have their own laptops and that many have ipads. Our school could raffle off laptops at a fundraiser. They could also raffle off several ipads. People could buy ipads and laptops from the apple store to use at school.

Another solution is to just get more laptops. I think buying more laptops is a good idea because then people could use laptops whenever you want. Most classrooms if not all, could have a good amount of laptops. A good amount of laptops to buy would be around 20 so every kid could use them. We could even have some desktops that we could connect to the school system.

One more solution is that our school could assign each computer to every person so that no one is looking for computers. They could carry their computer around or keep it in their locker. It would be a lot easier than people walking around school asking, "Can I borrow a computer or do you have the laptops?" The school would not have people walking around school during classes, disrupting classes by asking for computers. Teachers would not have to sign out laptop carts or make sure everybody got a laptop. Everybody would already have a computer.

As an example, our class used the computers and Jay, Jacob, and myself needed a computer. As another example, our class was using laptops and there were only about ten in the moving lab, so we had to go upstairs and go get seven extra computers. We didn't have enough laptops because eighth graders were borrowing lots of computers from our room.

The last solution I have is to get ipads and lose the idea of laptops. Ipads are so much easier to carry and use especially if the ipads are 3G, so we do not need to buy a bunch of wifi hotspots. We could bring them home to use. During time after tests we could play games or read books. Also, instead of buying ipads, we could buy kindle fires. They can do what ipads can do but for a cheaper price. The kindle fire also has a huge library space to store up to a very large amount of books. We could put pass codes on each one so that only the owner can get into it.

This could help our school by not having fights over who gets which computer and when. We could use this to help us make our technology system more sophisticated. It would help our school become more advanced with technology.
